Sales Professional, Fine Jewellery

Position Overview

The position represents an opportunity for an experienced sales professional to develop and manage relationships with a sophisticated clientele across London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the sale of fine diamond jewellery, with emphasis on consultative selling, client relationship management, and the ability to articulate the provenance and craftsmanship of pieces to discerning buyers.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify, cultivate and maintain relationships with high-net-worth clients and existing accounts, utilising networking skills to generate new business opportunities within London's luxury market
  • Conduct consultative sales meetings with clients, demonstrating expert knowledge of gemstone grading, jewellery design, and the heritage of the prestigious luxury jewellers' collections
  • Communicate the narrative and craftsmanship associated with each piece, translating technical specifications into compelling stories that resonate with clientele
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial inquiry through to completion, ensuring bespoke service standards are maintained throughout the client journey
  • Achieve individual sales targets and commission-based objectives, whilst maintaining appropriate margins and client satisfaction metrics
  • Prepare client proposals, quotations and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Participate in selected industry events, private viewings and exhibitions to enhance personal brand visibility and generate qualified leads
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure seamless client service and support for complex transactions

Skills and Profile

  • Demonstrable track record in luxury goods sales, ideally within fine jewellery, watches, diamonds or comparable premium sectors
  • Exceptional networking ability and a natural facility for building and sustaining long-term client relationships
  • Strong storytelling capability with the ability to articulate product heritage, technical knowledge and emotional value to sophisticated audiences
  • Proven sales achievement against targets, with experience in consultative and high-value transaction environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of diamond and gemstone grading, or demonstrable capacity to develop such expertise rapidly
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in written and spoken English
  • Professional discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality in dealings with private clients
  • Organised and proactive approach, with strong follow-through on client commitments and administrative requirements

Remuneration and Terms

The position offers a competitive basic salary commensurate with experience, supplemented by performance-based commission and bonus structures. The on-target earnings (OTA) framework is designed to reward achievement and recognise the commercial value delivered by successful business development.
