We are Hiring Jira Administrator
Location: Solihull/London. Check for Onsite/Hybrid/Remote.
Pay: 380 GBP/Day (Inside IR35)
Role Description
Proven experience administering JIRA in an enterprise environment, including user, licence, and permission management.
- Hands-on experience with Tempo (Timesheets and/or Planner/Structure) in a live production environment.
- Track record of designing, consolidating, and improving JIRA boards and workflows across multiple teams.
- Working knowledge of JIRA automation rules, apps/marketplace add-ons, and integration approaches.
- Practical experience building dashboards and reports in PowerBI, including connecting to and modelling JIRA data.
- Strong stakeholder management skills; comfortable working directly with Super Users, Delivery Managers, and senior leaders.
- Ability to write clear, user-friendly documentation and training materials for non-technical audiences.
- Atlassian certification (e.g. ACP-JIRA Administrator) desirable but not essential.
- Experience in a project/portfolio delivery, PMO, or IT operations environment is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Platform Administration
- Act as system administrator for JIRA and Tempo: user provisioning and de-provisioning, permission and group management, and access reviews.
- Manage software licence counts and allocation, monitoring usage against entitlement and forecasting future licence needs.
- Own “keeping the lights on”: monitor platform health and performance, manage upgrades, apps/add-ons, and integrations.
- Triage and resolve support tickets and platform issues, escalating to Atlassian support or third-party vendors where required.
- Maintain configuration standards across projects, workflows, schemes, and custom fields to keep the platform consistent and supportable.
- Own platform governance and configuration standards, including change control, auditability, compliance, and the review/approval of deviations from agreed standards.

Subject Matter Expertise, Guides & Enablement
- Act as the organisation's subject matter expert on JIRA and Tempo, staying current with platform features, roadmap changes, and best practice.
- Create and maintain a library of How-To Guides and a searchable knowledge base covering common tasks, board setup, and troubleshooting.
- Deliver onboarding materials and training sessions for new users, Board Owners, and Super Users.
- Act as an escalation point for functional (non-technical) queries that Super Users cannot resolve.

Super User Support & Board Best Practice
- Support the network of Super Users across the business, sharing best practice and building their capability to self-serve.
- Define and promote board design standards (workflows, swimlanes, statuses, quick filters, WIP limits) to drive consistency and efficiency.
- Run periodic board health reviews, identifying inefficiencies, workflow bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
Board Consolidation & Enhancement
- Lead the consolidation of multiple, fragmented boards into single, well-structured boards, working with stakeholders to map requirements and manage the transition.
- Redesign and enhance existing boards to improve usability, visibility of work, and alignment to team and portfolio-level reporting needs.
- Recommend and configure JIRA/Tempo apps and automation to reduce manual effort and improve board functionality.
Reporting & Insight (PowerBI)
- Work with Portfolio Directors and Delivery Managers to understand reporting needs and translate them into self-service dashboards, working with Power BI teams
