Jira Specialist Jira Service Management
Location: UK Kent x 2 a week
Contract: Contract opportunity
Rate: Inside I35
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Jira Specialist to configure, administer and optimise an enterprise Atlassian environment. You will work across Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira Software, Confluence, Atlassian Assets (Insight) and Jira Plans, helping improve service management processes, workflow automation, reporting and integration capabilities.
Working with technical teams and business stakeholders, you will ensure the Atlassian platform supports effective service delivery, operational visibility and continuous improvement, aligned with ITIL best practices and business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and administer Jira Service Management projects, workflows, SLAs, request types, service portals, queues and automation rules.
- Manage Jira Software and Confluence, including permissions, screens, schemes, knowledge management and user access.
- Support the development and maintenance of Atlassian Assets (Insight), including CMDB structures, asset relationships and service dependency mapping.
- Develop dashboards, reports and Jira Plans to improve project tracking, operational reporting and cross-team delivery visibility.
- Design and support integrations between Jira and enterprise applications using REST APIs, webhooks and automation tools.
- Apply ITIL principles across Incident, Problem, Change, Service Request and Knowledge Management processes.
- Provide platform support, user training and guidance on Atlassian governance and best practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve platform performance, service workflows, automation and the overall user experience.

Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on administration and configuration experience across Jira Service Management, Jira Software and Confluence.
- Proven experience configuring workflows, request types, queues, SLAs, permissions, screens and automation rules.
- Good understanding of ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem, Change and Service Request Management.
- Practical experience with Atlassian Assets (formerly Insight), CMDB configuration and data relationship management.
- Experience integrating Jira with enterprise systems using REST APIs, webhooks and automation frameworks.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and stakeholder communication skills.

Desirable Experience
- Enterprise Service Management (ESM) implementations supporting functions such as HR, Finance, Facilities or Customer Operations.
- Jira Plans, advanced dashboards, portfolio reporting and cross-team delivery planning.
- Opsgenie, JSM Operations, alert management, incident swarming and on-call scheduling.
- Integrations with SolarWinds, Azure DevOps, Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow or Microsoft Teams.
- Atlassian certifications, such as ACP-JSM, ACP Administration or relevant Atlassian Cloud certifications.
