Job Captain/Technical Coordinator

- Creates construction documents (CDs)
- Manages client relationship for small and medium-sized projects from initiation through completion, including work performed by internal and external resources
- Reviews CDs to ensure compliance with firm standards, mechanical, building systems, building regulations, and accessibility requirements
- For smaller projects, may oversee all CD production and review
- Coordinates with Senior technical staff and design staff to provide technical solutions for design dilemmas
- Manages project through the construction phase
- Manages overall client relationship from initial assessment of client needs, through design concept presentations, and final delivery of project. Ensures positive relationships resulting in additional business or referred work
- Coordinates engineer’s and consultant’s work to ensure compliance with the design solution and timely submission of documents
- Carries out or assists in field surveys
- Ensures adherence to set budget and immediately informs Senior Technical Coordinator/Architect/PM and/or client of any potential variances to the budget
- May mentor the work of Junior and Immediate Designers
- Oversees tasks and provides feedback on work product
- Conducts client interviews to determine technical requirements for the design

Qualifications
- Graduate of an architecture, interior architecture, or interior design program
- 6+ years’ experience in corporate interior design projects
- Experience working on projects in the UK and/or EU
- Advanced Revit abilities
- Must have a right to work in the UK
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced interior architecture detailing skills
- Extensive knowledge of the range of design principles and aesthetics
- Extensive documentation and field observational skills
- Extensive knowledge of CDs and procedures
- Extensive knowledge of building systems, regulations, and accessibility requirements
- Working knowledge of space planning methodology
