About the Role
To job coach students based within internal and external work placements/rotations. To provide support to students in gaining vital work-related skills and experiences to be able to move into paid employment at the end of the year. To also support the employer/mentors to be able to work effectively with students and to build on relationships that continually help develop existing and new opportunities for students.
Key Needs from You and the Role
- Passionate about supporting young people with learning disabilities into employment, helping them develop employability, independence and workplace skills through tailored support and coaching.
- Experienced in building positive relationships with employers and stakeholders, creating work placement, internship and employment opportunities that match students’ skills, interests and aspirations.
- Skilled in student support, mentoring and job coaching, with the ability to motivate learners, monitor progress and provide effective support in both educational and workplace settings.
- Organised, proactive and committed to safeguarding, able to maintain accurate records, contribute to promotional activities, analyse employment opportunities and work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and support agencies.

East Coast College require all staff to hold a minimum Level 2 or equivalent in English and maths, and be able to evidence this.

Application Process
All applications are reviewed and scored against the essential and desirable criteria as set out in the job description and person specification to determine a shortlist. Shortlisted applications will be invited to interview and to complete a self-declaration and disclosure form. Information relating to the interview format will be shared and confirmed prior to the scheduled interview taking place and will facilitate any requested adjustments.
Employment Conditions
All offers of employment are conditional and subject to the successful completion of pre-employment checks, including at least two references, safeguarding and suitability checks, and an Enhanced DBS check where required.
