Company Description
Camphill Wakefield is a specialist post 16 college near Newmillerdam, supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities. The job coach team works collaboratively across college to create an inclusive, person-centered supported employment model programme, that respects each individual’s abilities, needs, and aspirations.
Role Description
The Job Coach role at Camphill Wakefield is a term time position based in Wakefield. The Job Coach will support young people with special educational needs and disabilities to develop work-related skills, identify career interests with the career team, and prepare the students for employment or meaningful vocational activities.

Responsibilities

- Delivering one-to-one and small group coaching sessions
- Supporting learners in work placements
- Collaborating with employers and internal staff to ensure appropriate workplace adjustments and support
- Creating and implementing individualized employment plans
- Monitoring progress
- Maintaining accurate records
- Contributing to reviews and reports
- Promoting self-advocacy, confidence, and independence in learners
- Maintaining a safe and inclusive environment
The job coach will be expected to drive either a college car or own car, with business insurance. An essential user car allowance is currently provided.
Qualifications
- Strong job coaching and coaching skills, with experience supporting individuals to achieve employment or vocational goals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication abilities to work effectively with learners, colleagues, families, and employers.
- Experience or knowledge of working with young people with special educational needs and disabilities in educational or support settings.
- Ability to create person-centered plans, keep accurate documentation, and manage a varied caseload.
- Relevant qualification in supported employment practise.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive practice, with willingness to undertake required training and checks.
- A clear DBS will be required subject to starting the role.
