Help Shape the Future of Support for the Armed Forces Community in Cornwall
Veterans Regroup CIC is seeking new Directors to join our Board as we move into an important and exciting phase of growth and development.
We are looking for people who can bring their experience, insight and perspective to help guide the organisation – offering support, constructive challenge and strong governance as we continue to grow our impact.
About Veterans Regroup CIC
Veterans Regroup CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, fully dedicated to supporting the Armed Forces community across Cornwall.
We work with veterans, serving personnel, reservists and their families – many of whom are navigating complex and often hidden challenges, including financial hardship, poor mental health, housing issues, unemployment and social isolation. At the heart of our work is a county-wide network of multi-agency Armed Forces Hubs, alongside outreach in rural communities.
Our Armed Forces Hubs Provide Safe And Welcoming Spaces Where All Members Of The Armed Forces Community Can Come Together For a Free Drink, Connect With Others Who Understand, And Access a Wide Range Of Support In One Place, Including
- Health and wellbeing support
- Housing and welfare advice
- Employment and skills support
- Financial and debt guidance
- Peer support and community connection.
By bringing together over 30 organisations, our hubs act as joined-up, one-stop environments, helping people access the support they need more easily, without having to navigate complex systems on their own.

Our Impact and Reach
Demand for our services continues to grow.
In a recent six-month period, our nine Armed Forces hubs recorded over 580 attendances, many of whom were accessing support for the first time.
In a large, rural county like Cornwall, where transport can be difficult and services are often spread out, many people don’t access support until things reach crisis point. Our hubs help change that – offering early, accessible and trusted support within local communities.
For many, simply having somewhere to go where they feel understood is the first step towards moving forward.
Partnerships and Strategic Role
We work closely with over 30 organisations, including NHS services, local authorities, the DWP, Armed Forces charities and MoD welfare teams.
We Are
- A signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant
- Members of Cobseo and ASDIC
- FCA authorised to provide money and debt advice
- Proud to hold a Bronze award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) and currently awaiting the outcome of our Silver award application.
We are also a delivery partner within a consortium led by Improving Lives Plymouth, alongside Veterans Outdoors, as part of the VALOUR programme in the South West of England – contributing to a more joined-up, collaborative approach to supporting the Armed Forces community.
Our Next Phase
With secured multi-year funding, growing demand and stronger regional partnerships, we are entering an exciting new phase of development.
This Includes
- Strengthening and sustaining our hub network
- Expanding outreach and partnership delivery
- Building the capacity and resilience of our team to meet increasing demand
- Working in collaboration with organisations across the county and the South West of England to strengthen and deliver a more integrated support system for the Armed Forces community
- Ensuring long-term sustainability and impact.

The Role of a Director
As a Director, You Will
- Support and guide the organisation’s direction and development
- Offer your experience, insight and constructive challenge
- Work collaboratively with fellow Directors and the leadership team
- Help ensure strong governance, accountability and transparency
This is a voluntary role. Board meetings are usually held in person in West Cornwall, with flexibility for online attendance.
Who We’re Looking For
We are particularly interested in people with experience in:
- The Armed Forces community (lived or professional experience)
- Public sector contracts or commissioning
- Finance and financial oversight
- Marketing, communications or brand development
We also welcome skills in HR, IT, business development and community engagement.
