About the Role

Are you an experienced Project Engineer with a background in utility-scale solar, BESS, substations, or high-voltage electrical systems? While we’re not actively hiring for this role today, we’re always looking to connect with top talent for future opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Set up new projects and ensure smooth onboarding of Field Engineers
  • Lead and mentor Field Engineers and Project Administrators in Primoris processes
  • Track and analyze project progress, costs, and production efficiency
  • Support budgeting and forecasting alongside Site and Project Managers
  • Manage project documentation, including:
    • RFIs (Requests for Information)
    • Submittals
    • Permits
    • Quality records
  • Coordinate engineering deliverables throughout the construction phase
  • Facilitate client and internal meetings to keep stakeholders informed
  • Assist with subcontractor tasks and ensure compliance with permits and agreements
  • Ensure accurate redlines and support the development of record drawings
  • Contribute to lessons learned and help refine project processes
  • Update project schedules weekly and support site operations as needed

Requirements

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensing/Validations:

    • Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable motor vehicle driving record (MVR)
  • Skills & Competencies:

    • Accounting (math and record-keeping)
    • Ability to give presentations to groups of up to 10 people
    • Understanding of 2+ disciplines in:
      • Civil
      • Electrical
      • Mechanical
      • Commissioning
    • Proficient in:
      • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, email)
      • Visio
    • Effective communication (oral, written, presentation)
    • Strong motivation & supervisory skills
    • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks

  • Relocation:
    • Project Engineers are expected to relocate to project sites for the duration of each construction project (duration typically 6–12 months).

Physical Requirements

  • Must comply with client safety requirements:

    • Clean-shaven
    • Long sleeves
    • Steel-toe boots
  • Must pass a physical exam if required

  • Mobility & Tasks:

    • Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways
    • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to work at heights/confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels, excavations)
    • Lift/carry up to 50 lbs. (Assistance for heavier loads)
  • Movement Demands:

    • Stand/walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel)
  • Work Environment:

    • *Respirator & PPE use required
    • Predominantly outdoor work

Location

Industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shops.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range

$90,000 – $123,000 Primoris Renewable Energy reserves the right to adjust pay and benefits based on role-specific factors.
