HOURS: 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
POSITION: Permanent | Full-Time
Job Purpose
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused maintenance Joiner to join our team. Working alongside our existing joiner team to support Gas & electrical works, you will carry out all joinery work associated with domestic boiler installations and heating system upgrades across our customer base, electrical system upgrades including solar works.
This role is responsible for preparing properties for installations, carrying out high-quality reinstatement work and ensuring customers' homes are left in an excellent condition. You will take pride in delivering a high standard of workmanship while providing an outstanding customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out all joinery work associated with heating & electrical works
- Remove and reinstate kitchen units, cupboards, worktops, boxing-in and other fixtures to provide safe access for boiler installations.
- Construct, modify and install timber frameworks, boxing and enclosures for boilers and associated pipework.
- Complete high-quality making good works following installations, ensuring a professional finish.
- Repair or replace skirting boards, architraves, door frames, flooring and other timber fixtures affected during installation works.
- Install loft hatches, access panels and other timber structures where required.
- Lift and reinstate floorboards to allow safe access for heating engineers.
- Carry out minor plaster boarding and patch repairs where appropriate.
- Ensure all work complies with current Building Regulations, health and safety legislation and company quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with Gas Installation Engineers, Electricians and other trades to ensure installations are completed efficiently and to programme.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, protecting customers' homes and belongings throughout each installation.
- Identify and report any defects or additional works that may impact the installation.
- Accurately complete all required job documentation, photographs and electronic records.
- Ensure company tools, equipment and vehicles are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition.
- Deliver excellent customer service, communicating professionally with customers throughout the installation process.
- Follow all company policies, procedures and safe systems of work.
- Attend training and development activities to maintain skills and support continuous improvement.
- Support the wider Installation Team with additional property maintenance tasks where required.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Joiner or Carpenter within domestic properties.
- Experience carrying out reinstatement and making-good works following maintenance or installation projects.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to varying property layouts.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working alongside Gas Installation or Heating Engineers.
- Experience within social housing or domestic maintenance.
- Knowledge of Building Regulations relevant to domestic joinery works.
- Basic plaster boarding or decorating experience.
- Health & Safety qualifications (e.g. Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at Height).
