About Us:
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust and Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an exceptional Joint Chief People Officer to help shape the next phase of our partnership and lead a people agenda that supports integrated, high-quality care across both organisations.
Our Trusts have worked in close partnership since 2020 and have continued to take significant steps towards greater collaboration. We have a Joint Chair and Non-Executive Directors, and most of our Executive Directors now work across both Trusts. Together, we serve communities across Greater Manchester and Derbyshire through more than 11,500 dedicated colleagues and a combined annual budget approaching £900 million. Guided by our shared CARE values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence, we are committed to delivering high-quality, integrated health care services for our populations and creating a great place to work for all our people.

The Role:
This is a pivotal role on our Joint Board and Executive Team reporting to our Chief Executive Karen James OBE. With the opportunity to shape an ambitious People agenda, you will enable our workforce to flourish as we maximise the opportunities offered by partnership and integration; supporting continuous quality improvement and the sustainability of our services. Working across both organisations and with wider system partners, you will champion inclusive leadership, workforce innovation, culture change, and organisational development, ensuring our workforce remains at the heart of our strategic decisions.
What We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an inspirational and values-led People leader, with significant board-level or equivalent experience gained in comparably large, complex, unionised, and multi-professional environments. With a track record of delivering workforce transformation and embedding cultural change, you will demonstrate credibility in influencing at all levels and be comfortable navigating complexity both internally and externally. Most importantly, you will share our commitment to inclusion, compassion, and continuous improvement, creating conditions where our colleagues can thrive and deliver the very best care to our communities.
