Job Description: Joint Venture Accountant
We are supporting a client with an urgent requirement for an experienced Joint Venture Accountant to join an initial 6-month (outside IR35) contract. The role can be worked on a hybrid/remote basis with occasional client site travel. Given the urgent nature of this contract we require someone to be able to start ASAP.
The key requirement for this role is hands-on experience running and managing a Joint Venture (JV) month-end timetable. You'll take responsibility for coordinating the month-end process and ensuring key JV accounting activities are completed accurately and to agreed deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the JV month-end timetable, ensuring activities are completed accurately and on time
- Perform and coordinate JV month-end accounting activities, including journals, reconciliations and financial close
- Support the day-to-day operation of Joint Venture Accounting processes
- Create and maintain JV master data, where required
- Investigate and resolve finance/process issues arising through the month-end cycle
- Work closely with Finance, SAP and wider business stakeholders to ensure an effective month-end close
- Support process improvements and ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained

Experience Required
- Strong hands-on Joint Venture Accounting experience
- Demonstrable experience running or taking ownership of a JV month-end timetable
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes, including journals and reconciliations
- Experience working within an SAP environment
- JV master data creation/maintenance experience would be highly beneficial
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to work independently within a Finance environment
You do not need to be a technical SAP/JVA consultant or a qualified/chartered accountant. Specialist SAP technical support will be available where required, the priority is someone with strong, practical JV Finance and month-end experience.
