Location: Field-Based - North East
Employment Type: Permanent

Our team at Turner Lovell is looking for an experienced Jointers. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of electrical distribution projects, carrying out jointing, installation, maintenance, and fault repair work on networks up to 33kV.

Working as part of a highly skilled field team, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality electrical infrastructure for our customers.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Jointer, you'll be responsible for:

  • Carrying out LV and HV cable jointing, terminations, and associated works up to 33kV.
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, and fault-finding on underground cable networks.
  • Working safely in accordance with client policies, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Reading and interpreting network drawings and technical documentation.
  • Completing site risk assessments and ensuring safe systems of work are followed.
  • Supporting planned and emergency works to maintain network reliability.
  • Liaising with colleagues, clients, and third parties to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate records and reporting any incidents, hazards, or near misses.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and delivering work to the highest quality standards.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a motivated and experienced Jointer with a strong technical background and a commitment to safe working practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Relevant Jointing Qualification (LV/HV)
  • Experience working on electricity distribution networks up to 33kV
  • DNO Authorisations appropriate to the role
  • First Aid
  • Manual Handling
  • NRSWA Operative
  • Working at Height
  • Safe Digging Techniques
  • Environmental Awareness

Desirable Qualifications

  • IPAF MEWP Operator
  • Excavation or plant operation experience
  • Current DNO or National Grid authorisations
  • Permit to Work (PTW) authorisation
  • Substation Entry
  • Cable fault location experience

Skills & Experience

You'll have:

  • Proven experience carrying out cable jointing and terminations on LV and HV networks.
  • A strong understanding of electricity distribution systems and safe working practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
  • The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills.
  • A flexible approach with a willingness to support planned and emergency network operations.
