Delta Jointing Services Limited is a specialist electrical cable jointing contractor supporting utility companies, DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs and principal contractors across the South Coast, wider Southern England and the Midlands.
With more than 20 years of industry experience, we provide skilled and reliable resources for both Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) projects. Our services include cable jointing and terminations, fault repairs, asset replacement, new connections, cable installation, network reinforcement and overlays, substation construction and refurbishment, and street-lighting connections.

Role Description
Cable Jointer’s Mate (sub contract basis)
Delta Jointing Services Limited is seeking a reliable and hardworking Cable Jointer’s Mate to support our cable jointing operations across the South of England and, where required, the Midlands.
Working alongside an experienced Cable Jointer, you will assist with Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) cable jointing activities, fault repairs, network reinforcement, overlays, asset replacement, new connections and substation works.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Cable Jointer with the preparation and completion of jointing works.
- Prepare tools, equipment, materials and jointing locations.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
- Handle cables and materials safely, including supporting cable installation and positioning.
- Follow risk assessments, method statements, operational procedures and site instructions.
- Complete pre-use checks and help maintain tools and equipment.
- Support vehicle loading, stock control and material management.
- Wear the required PPE and comply with all health, safety and environmental requirements.
- Report hazards, defects, incidents and near misses promptly.
- Work professionally with clients, site teams and members of the public.
- Travel to different work locations and work additional hours when required.
Essential Requirements
MUST have a current and in date SSE Authorisations:
- SSEN Category 01 C Entry to a Distribution or Primary or Grid S/S with exposed conductors
- SSEN Category 02 D Accompanying Person Low Voltage Live Working
And:
- Previous experience within the cable jointing industry.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
- Physically capable of undertaking manual, outdoor and site-based work.
- Willingness to work in varying weather conditions and confined working areas.
- Ability to follow instructions and work procedures accurately.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work away from home.
- Right to work in the UK.

Desirable Requirements
- Based around the Oxfordshire area.
- Previous experience as a Cable Jointer’s Mate.
- Current DNO or SSEN authorisations.
- EUSR Utility Safety Health and Environmental Awareness registration.
- In date Emergency First Aid at Work.
- In date Manual handling certification.
