The Role
Step into the role of Assistant Compliance Technologist.
Discover an exciting opportunity to take on an integral role here at Joules Head Office working within the Quality and Technical team.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time role based at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday and this is an onsite role.
Our Location
Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars, and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.
What You’ll Do
Join our in-house, innovative Quality and Technical team to support the company’s compliance function by accurately recording, maintaining, and reporting data related to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), legal compliance, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations.
What to expect on a day-to-day basis:
- Data Recording & Management.
- Liaison with the team at NEXT ensuring clear and on-time communication.
- Accurately record, update, and maintain all compliance-related data, including CSR metrics, supplier audits, and EPR reporting information.
- Ensure data is entered in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Monitor data accuracy and highlight discrepancies or missing information.
- Maintain organised and secure records in compliance with GDPR and company data policies.
- Assist with gathering documentation from suppliers, factories, and internal teams for compliance audits.
- Track supplier certifications, chemical data information, and renewal dates.
- Support the preparation of EPR submissions and other regulatory reports.
- Assist in monitoring adherence to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments.
- Provide administrative support for compliance and sustainability projects.
- Assist with due diligence testing programs.
- Record CSR activity data, including social impact initiatives, sustainability performance, and environmental KPIs.
- Assist with preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support teams with international compliance verification tasks.

What You’ll Bring
To really shine within the role of Assistant Compliance Technologist, you must be able to work flexibly and at pace. From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:
- Previous experience in an administrative or data-entry role, ideally within compliance, sustainability, or manufacturing.
- Proficient in Google Suite and database systems.
- Knowledge of CSR principles, supply chain compliance, or EPR legislation is an advantage but not essential – training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in data handling.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive and methodical approach to work.
- Interest in sustainability, CSR, and ethical manufacturing.

In accordance with Home Office guidance, successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
