The Role
Step into the role of a Womenswear Designer!
Discover an exciting opportunity to take on an integral role here at Joules Head Office.
Your focus will be on jersey design! You will be utilising your exceptional taste level to create designs that are representative of the latest trends whilst reflecting the Joules brand in order to meet the expectations of our customers.
Working Pattern
This is a full-time role based at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and this is an onsite role.
Our Location
Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and create a vision for your product area, making proposals for newness.
- Create mood boards to reflect key design influences and the overall vision for your department, in order to sell the looks, moods, colours etc to the product teams.
- Identify new areas of potential business and put forward proposals to your Line Manager and product teams.
- Collaborate with Buying and Technology to ensure the prototypes reflect your designs and meet the required standards.
- Use your knowledge of existing and potential suppliers to assist with the evaluation of the supplier base in relation to the production of your product range.
- Work with technology to assess the most effective method of producing your design prototypes and make recommendations to your Line Manager and product team.
- Regularly review the effectiveness/impact of your designs through regular contact with the stores and with the product teams and leverage this knowledge to inform future proposals.

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you have:
- Experience in a similar role within a lifestyle brand.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Organisational skills and strong time management.
- Enthusiasm for and dedication to the Joules brand.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Willingness and high level ability to liaise with colleagues, suppliers and all relevant stakeholders.

Sponsorship
In accordance with Home Office guidance successful candidates will be required to evidence their right to work in the UK before commencement of employment. Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
