The Role

Are you a strong communicator with a background in administration that thrives in delivering the best level of service? 

Step into the role of Property and Leasing Assistant here at Joules Head Office.

Working Pattern

This is a part-time position based onsite at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. This would be 3 days per week.

Our Location

Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars, and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.

What You’ll Do

Administrative Support

  • Maintain accurate lease records and property databases to support our nationwide retail estate.
  • Monitor key lease events, including lease expiries, rent reviews, break clauses, licence renewals, and option dates.
  • Ensure critical lease dates are tracked and proactively communicated to the Property Manager.
  • Assist with the preparation, execution, and filing of lease documentation.

Estate Management & Compliance Support

  • Support the day-to-day management of the Company's retail property portfolio to ensure the estate remains safe, compliant, and operational.
  • Coordinate landlord approvals, licences for alterations, and access requests.
  • Assist with service charge, property documentation, and business rates administration.

Property Portfolio & Projects

  • Support the Property Manager throughout the acquisition of new stores and property due diligence for new sites.
  • Assist with the coordination of legal documentation during acquisitions, store relocations, and lease completions.
  • Coordinate crucial information between solicitors, surveyors, agents, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support store relocations, lease renewals, assignments, surrenders, and disposals.

Stakeholder Liaison

  • Act as a key liaison between internal teams such as Finance, Retail Operations, Store Design, and Health & Safety.
  • Build and maintain effective, positive relationships with landlords, managing agents, solicitors, and surveyors.
  • Work closely with the NEXT Estates and Finance teams regarding rents, service charges, and property payments.

Meeting & Communication Management

  • Organise and facilitate key departmental meetings.
  • Handle internal and external enquiries professionally, offering assistance or escalating as needed to ensure effective resolution.

What You’ll Bring

From a technical and operational perspective, it would also be advantageous if you:

  • Experience within a similar role.
  • Prior experience or knowledge in commercial property, retail property, facilities management, or estate management, advantageous but not essential.
  • Knowledge of commercial leases and landlord & tenant practices.
  • Experience working with solicitors, surveyors, or property agents.
  • Experience maintaining lease or property databases and understanding retail estate management.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Good commercial awareness and the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise competing workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite: Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides would be desirable.
  • Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.

Joules does not hold a Sponsor Licence and would not, therefore, be able to sponsor a successful candidate under the Skilled Worker route. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the right to work without sponsorship.
