As the current Barclays Women's Super League champions, Manchester City Women are setting the standard on and off the pitch.

We're looking for a talented journalist to join our team and help tell the stories behind the success, creating engaging, high-quality content that informs, inspires and connects with supporters across our digital and matchday platforms. Based in Manchester, this is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working and regular matchday, evening and weekend coverage.

Who We Are

Manchester City Women is a team driven by ambition, belief and a desire to keep pushing the game forward. Founded in 1988 and relaunched in 2014, we have grown into a consistent force in the women’s game, competing at the highest level in the UK and Europe. Progress, performance and pride sit at the heart of everything we do. With Mancunian roots and a global outlook, we are shaped by our Fans and driven by a long-term vision, from developing future talent to supporting the communities we call home. Together, we are building what comes next, the City way.

Within our Written Content team, we bring Manchester City stories to life through thoughtful, high-quality journalism that gives fans around the world a deeper view of the club. With a particular focus on our Women’s output, we work collaboratively across editorial, social, video and design to create engaging content that celebrates the team, captures key moments and supports the wider storytelling ambition of the department.

The Role

This role sits at the heart of our Women’s storytelling, helping to shape clear, accurate and engaging content that connects fans with the team and the moments that matter. You will help keep our editorial output fresh, relevant and aligned to the standards of a club with a global audience.

Day to day, you will support the Head of Editorial, Content Lead and Managing Editors, covering live matches and producing reports, live blogs, interviews and match galleries when needed. You will also write high-quality copy for web, app, digital magazine and matchday programmes, contribute to milestone and anniversary content, support SEO and website hygiene, and help maintain records and milestones databases.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
