Position: Journalist / Writer

Type: Contractor

Compensation: $90–$140/hour

Location: Remote

About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced Journalists and Writers to evaluate and improve advanced AI-generated written content. You’ll apply your expertise in journalism, writing, editing, and fact-checking to assess content for accuracy, clarity, coherence, tone, and effectiveness.

No prior AI experience is required — your professional writing and editorial expertise are what matter most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and compare AI-generated responses against writing prompts and evaluation standards.
  • Assess content for clarity, accuracy, tone, coherence, and audience suitability.
  • Assign quality scores and provide concise, well-reasoned written rationales.
  • Identify factual inaccuracies, unsupported claims, logical inconsistencies, and contradictions.
  • Evaluate adherence to the intended brief and established editorial standards.
  • Document findings using digital content-review platforms and project tools.
  • Collaborate asynchronously with reviewers and project teams to maintain consistent evaluation standards.
  • Complete assigned evaluations accurately and within project timelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional-level written English fluency.
  • University degree completed at an institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.
  • Professional experience in journalism, reporting, editing, copy editing, sub-editing, fact-checking, ghostwriting, or published writing.
  • Strong expertise in writing, technical writing, content evaluation, and critical analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify factual inaccuracies and unsupported claims.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience editing or fact-checking content against a style guide or editorial standards.
  • Experience evaluating content for accuracy, structure, clarity, and audience appropriateness.
  • Familiarity with annotation platforms, digital content-review tools, or structured evaluation workflows.
  • Previous experience with AI model evaluation or AI training is a plus.

Compensation

  • Competitive compensation of $90–$140/hour.
  • Independent contractor engagement.
