Judicial Assistant (Legal Research & Case Management) – Abu Dhabi Courts, UAE
Position based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department is seeking qualified UK solicitors and barristers to join the Abu Dhabi Courts as Judicial Assistants, supporting judges in case management, legal research, and the preparation of judgments.
This is a full-time, on-site position in Abu Dhabi.
Role
The Judicial Assistant will work directly with judges and support the management and determination of court cases. The role combines legal research and judicial assistance with practical case management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist judges with legal research, case analysis, and preparation for hearings.
- Review pleadings, evidence, submissions, and other court documents.
- Prepare legal memoranda, case summaries, and research notes for judges.
- Assist with drafting judgments, orders, and other judicial documents.
- Conduct case management hearings and meetings with litigants and legal representatives as required.
- Identify the key legal and factual issues in cases and ensure matters are properly prepared for judicial determination.
- Monitor cases and procedural deadlines and assist in progressing cases efficiently through the Court.
- Support judges in complex civil, commercial, and employment disputes.
- Carry out other legal and case management duties assigned by the Court.

Requirements
- Must be admitted to practise as a solicitor or barrister in England & Wales or Scotland.
- Newly Qualified solicitors and barristers are encouraged to apply.
- Strong legal research, analysis, and drafting skills.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Ability to analyse complex cases and produce clear, concise legal writing.
- Litigation, judicial assistant, court, arbitration, or dispute resolution experience would be an advantage.
- Willingness to relocate to and work full-time in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Package
- Tax-free monthly salary of AED 22,000, approximately USD 6,000.
- Annual housing allowance of AED 130,000, approximately USD 35,400, provided separately from the salary and paid directly towards the employee’s accommodation/landlord.
- 30 days of annual leave, in addition to UAE public holidays.
- Comprehensive medical insurance for the employee and eligible family members.
- Relocation support.
- Full-time appointment based at the Abu Dhabi Courts.
