Junior Account Director (Pharma)
Reporting to: Group Account Director
Location: Remote, USA / UK
Role overview
This role provides consistent, senior-level support to a project-based account for a pharmaceutical Business Unit. The account covers every social media discipline: organic and paid content, insights, project management and social creative.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Priorities shift quickly, several projects run in parallel, and deadlines are tight. The work is agile and varied, and the ideal candidate thrives in that pace while keeping quality high.
You will help deliver social content that stands out visually and pushes the boundaries of innovation and performance. You will work alongside Account, Strategy, Creative, Insights and Paid teams across multiple Business Units to grow the account and raise its standing.

The ideal candidate:
- Has 4+ years of social-first account management experience within pharma or healthcare
- Has excellent stakeholder-facing communication skills and presents strategic initiatives with confidence to senior audiences across global markets
- Communicates clearly in written and verbal formats with a wide range of stakeholders, including brand teams, partners and third parties
- Has experience collaborating with strategy, social, creative and insights teams
- Has experience writing proposals and presenting campaign ideas
- Manages multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines, with strong problem-solving skills
- Has a deep understanding of social platforms, their creative formats, and emerging innovations and opportunities across LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and X
- Has a strong interest in digital technologies and AI, and brings new ideas to keep the work fresh

Responsibilities
- Deliver work to a high standard, aligned with brand strategies and objectives
- Build, manage and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders
- Manage workflows efficiently and delegate to team members where appropriate
- Mentor junior team members and support their development
- Support Group and Account Directors in meetings, calls and events
- Oversee the status of insights deliverables and paid campaigns
- Stay current on developments, policies and competitor activity across the healthcare and health tech sectors
- Contribute to idea generation, proposal writing and quotes for the wider team
- Help develop and execute initiatives that raise Substance's profile among key audiences
