Part-Qualified Accountant

Location: Central London (Hybrid)
Salary: Competitive + Study Support + Benefits

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated Part-Qualified Accountant to join a growing international business. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will join a small, collaborative finance team where you will gain exposure across a broad range of accounting, reporting, and process improvement activities.

This role is ideally suited to someone studying towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT who is looking to build on their existing accounting experience in a hands-on environment. The position offers excellent exposure to month-end accounting, management reporting, accounts payable oversight, treasury activities, and finance systems projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase-to-Pay & Accounts Payable

  • Take ownership of the purchase-to-pay process, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day accounts payable activities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for supplier and invoice queries.
  • Liaise with budget holders to ensure invoices are correctly coded and approved.
  • Review payment runs and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of accounts payable processes and workflows.

Month-End Accounting

  • Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and other routine adjustments.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring deadlines are met accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist in driving process improvements to streamline reporting timelines.

Reporting & Financial Control

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and KPI reporting.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records across the business.
  • Assist with audit preparation and provide supporting schedules as required.
  • Help document finance processes and ensure controls are operating effectively.

Treasury & Cash Management

  • Assist with bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
  • Support day-to-day banking administration.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements within treasury and payment processes.

  • Work with finance systems to ensure data integrity and efficient reporting.
  • Support system enhancements and new finance technology implementations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase operational efficiency.

Candidate Profile:

We're keen to speak with candidates who possess:

  • Previous experience in a finance or accounting role.
  • Exposure to month-end processes, including journals, accruals and reconciliations.
  • Accounts payable or purchase ledger experience.
  • Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA or AAT.
  • Strong Excel skills and good attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive mindset with an interest in process improvement and systems.
