Junior Accounts Assistant

📢 Junior Accounts Assistant | Permanent | £25,000 - £30,000 + Study Support

Our client, an internationally recognised security company, is looking for a Junior Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive finance team on a permanent basis.

This is an outstanding opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting. Whether you've gained some initial finance experience or have recently started your AAT studies, this role offers the chance to develop your practical accounting skills while receiving ongoing training, mentorship and study support to help you progress professionally.

You'll gain exposure to a broad range of finance duties within a collaborative environment, making this the ideal next step for someone who is ambitious, eager to learn and looking to establish a successful career within accountancy.


Job Details

  • Role: Junior Accounts Assistant 📈
  • Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum (depending on experience) 💰
  • Industry: Tech / Security 🛡️
  • Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday ⏰
  • Start Date: ASAP 📅
  • Location: Euston 📍

Key Responsibilities 📋

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and supporting documentation.
  • Code invoices to the correct nominal accounts and cost centres.
  • Support the Accounts Payable function by monitoring invoice approvals and resolving supplier queries.
  • Process employee expense claims.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Assist with payment runs and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Support month-end processes where required.
  • Maintain organised electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance-related queries.
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team as required.

Skills & Experience 💼

  • Previous experience within finance, accounts or an administrative environment is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for pursuing a long-term career in accounting.
  • Studying towards, or looking to begin, an AAT qualification or similar accounting qualification is advantageous.
  • Strong numerical ability with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
