Role Description

The Junior Accounts Assistant is a full-time, remote role supporting the finance and accounting function at Secret Sales. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Performing basic data entry and transaction reconciliations
  • Helping with bank and ledger reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records
  • Preparing routine reports for the senior finance team

The Junior Accounts Assistant will liaise with internal teams and external partners to:

  • Resolve invoice queries
  • Support month-end closing activities
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and accounting procedures

Qualifications

  • Foundational accounting and finance knowledge, including basic understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger processes.
  • Competence in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools, with the ability to manage spreadsheets, perform data entry, and handle numerical information accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced e-commerce environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative approach to working with finance colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, demonstrating reliability, discretion, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality of financial data.
  • Relevant education such as a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with accounting or ERP software and prior exposure to retail or e-commerce finance operations are advantageous.
  • Willingness to learn, develop professionally, and support continuous improvement in accounting processes and controls.
