Full Time: Monday-Friday, 9am - 6pm
Location: Head office in Chelsea
Reports to: Finance Manager

The Role

The Junior Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day support to the Finance Manager across all areas of the finance function. This is a varied role suited to a motivated individual who is keen to develop their accounting knowledge and gain experience across sales ledger, purchase ledger, bank reconciliations, and financial administration.

The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across the business, helping to ensure financial records are accurate, transactions are processed in a timely manner, and finance processes run smoothly. The role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting the wider finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the processing of sales and purchase invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely posting.
  • Support the maintenance of customer and supplier accounts.
  • Assist with sales ledger activities.
  • Support purchase ledger processes, including supplier reconciliations and resolving invoice queries.
  • Assist with daily and monthly bank reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
  • Prepare and update spreadsheets, reports, and supporting documentation.
  • Support the Finance Manager with month-end activities and ad hoc reporting.
  • Provide administrative support to the finance department as required.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Respond to finance queries and help resolve issues efficiently.
  • Undertake other ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous finance or administrative experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and develop within a finance environment.
  • Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with any accounting software would be advantageous but not essential.
