Job Purpose
To provide efficient support to the finance team by maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with day-to-day accounting activities. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of basic accounting principles and be keen to develop their career within finance.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter financial data accurately into Sage 50 accounting software.
- Produce and process customer invoices.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Reconcile customer, supplier, and bank accounts.
- Check and verify bank payments and receipts.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Ensure all financial documents are correctly filed and archived.
- Support month-end processes as required.
- Perform general administrative duties within the finance department.
- Provide finance-related information and administrative support to the partners and operations team as required.

Essential Requirements
Qualifications
- AAT Level 2 qualification or equivalent accounting qualification.
- GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with hands-on experience using formulas
- Knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- The right to work in the UK.

Experience
- Min 1 year previous experience in an accounts, finance, or administrative role.
- Min 1 year experience processing invoices and reconciling accounts would be advantageous.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working in a small to medium-sized business environment.
- Knowledge of VAT and basic accounting procedures.

Hours
10–12 hours per week on average, varying with workload. More time will be needed during invoicing periods and quarterly close, with fewer hours in quieter weeks. Timing will be agreed in advance with the Finance Manager. Once a week working from our office in London.
