FIG3D | Forging Innovation Group is a Sheffield/Rotherham advanced manufacturing business specialising in intelligent hardware, additive manufacturing and advanced materials.
We’re growing our manufacturing capability and want someone who is genuinely passionate about 3D printing, CAD and making things work.
You don’t necessarily need a degree.
You don’t need 10 years of industry experience.
But you do need to know your stuff.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work hands-on with our growing additive manufacturing operation, including:
- Running and managing multiple FDM printers
- Bambu Lab and Sovol large-format systems
- Preparing, slicing and optimising customer parts
- Diagnosing and repairing failed prints
- Maintaining and calibrating machines
- CAD modifications and design-for-manufacture
- Working with engineering polymers and composite materials
- Developing better ways of producing components
- Taking customer requirements from idea → prototype → production

Who we’re looking for
We’re particularly interested in someone who has learned by actually doing it.
Maybe you’ve built your own printers.
Maybe your bedroom, garage or workshop has slowly turned into a print farm.
Maybe you’ve been designing parts in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Onshape or similar and wondering how you turn that experience into a career.
That’s exactly the sort of person we’d like to meet.
Experience with Bambu Studio, OrcaSlicer, Fusion 360, SolidWorks or similar would be useful.

This isn’t a print-farm button-pushing job.
We’re building a serious UK advanced manufacturing capability supporting projects across Defence, UAVs, automation, data-centre infrastructure and intelligent hardware.
You’ll be joining a small, ambitious team where you’ll get responsibility quickly and have the opportunity to grow with the business.
