Join the Victor Phillip Dahdaleh Heart & Lung Research Institute (VPD-HLRI), part of the University of Cambridge, as our Junior Administrator and play a key role in supporting the Institute's senior leadership and day-to-day operations.

The VPD-HLRI brings together researchers, clinicians and professional services staff from across the University, NHS and partner organisations, creating a collaborative environment focused on improving cardiovascular and lung health. As Junior Administrator, you will provide professional, proactive and confidential administrative and secretarial support to the Directors of both the Institute and the Clinical Research Facility (HLRI-CRF), helping to ensure the smooth and effective operation of their offices.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that sits at the centre of Institute activity. You will manage complex and frequently changing diaries, coordinate meetings and events, organise domestic and international travel, and provide high-quality administrative support across a wide range of activities. Working closely with senior academic leaders, you will help ensure priorities are managed effectively and that information, correspondence and documentation are handled professionally and confidentially.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This includes organising seminars, meetings and visits, supporting governance and committee activity, preparing agendas and papers, taking minutes, tracking actions and maintaining records. You will also assist with recruitment administration, finance processes such as purchase orders, invoices and expenses, and the maintenance of accurate administrative records and databases.

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload while maintaining excellent attention to detail. You will be comfortable handling confidential information, working to competing deadlines and using your initiative to resolve issues and keep activities running smoothly.
