Junior Aerospace Assurance & Certification Consultant
Salary range: £38,000 to £45,000 per annum depending on experience
Location: Burton or Bristol but any FNC Office in the UK
Working Pattern: We operate a flexible hybrid working pattern at Frazer-Nash, with time split between the office, client sites and working from home

Frazer-Nash provides Aviation Certification and safety assurance services to the UK Military Defence sector and we are looking for an experienced certification senior engineer or consultant to support in the development and delivery of this service. In addition, the successful candidate will provide engineering skills to our large team of multi-discipline aerospace engineers across a variety of fixed-wing, rotary-wing, both crewed and uncrewed air systems. Our Safety Assurance team aims to support our clients in providing the UK with airworthy, safe, sustainable military capability through the application of a systems engineering and engineering technical services across the MoD in the aerospace domain, and into other domains.
Our clients look for support in initial platform type certification and type airworthiness, continuing airworthiness and technical delivery of projects. This would suit an engineer with previous experience working within National Armaments Group / Defence Equipment & Support Delivery Teams or Front-Line delivery of air systems or commodity equipment. Civil experience in certification will also be welcomed. The role represents an opportunity to join an expanding team to both support and lead technical delivery on projects across the aerospace spectrum within Defence. You will develop a portfolio of project deliveries, hone your consultancy skills and help develop more junior engineers and graduates. As part of Frazer-Nash, you may also have opportunities to work outside defence aerospace or gain civil experience to widen your skillset further.

Essential Requirements
You will be expected to:
- Have sound engineering experience across multiple disciplines
- Lead on technical delivery within programmes under the guidance of a more senior consultant
- To support these responsibilities, we are looking for an individual with a well-rounded aerospace engineering background who:
- Is a supervised practitioner in type or continuing airworthiness
- Has experience of working in engineering teams as either a senior NCO or engineering officer or civilian equivalent
- Is at least Incorporated Engineer (with RAeS, IMechE or IET) or working towards it
- Has demonstrable technical experience of working in a Systems Engineering environment, in the aerospace industry, including:
- Safety work within a Platform Delivery Team or similar
- Certification requirements and compliance;
- Working with EASA CS or Military MAC-P / Def Stan 00-970 Certification Specifications
- Requirements management;
- Safety and assurance;
- Test and acceptance.
- Shows a clear customer-focused attitude
- Demonstrates an understanding of the different air safety aspects of an air systems life cycle.

Desirable Requirements
- Holds a first degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- Experience working within a Delivery Team or Defence Equipment & Support
- Frontline Engineering Experience on a Squadron or similar
- Has previous/current experience as an engineering consultant
Due to the nature of the work that Frazer-Nash Consultancy undertakes, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
