Junior AI Automation Developer

We are looking for a Junior AI Automation Developer to help us translate manual business tasks into automated workflows. In this role, you will be working closely with our senior development team to support a large scale project for our partner in London. Our partner is a London-based organization that currently relies on several manual data entry processes that we are looking to modernize. You will help us build the scripts and connections that allow their internal systems to communicate with automated tools and language models. This is about making their daily work easier and more accurate by handling the repetitive parts of their jobs.

About Pixel Systems

Pixel Systems is a small, fully remote software agency. We do not build flashy consumer apps or experimental tech that never gets used. Our focus is on the practical tools that keep a business running. Clients come to us when they have a sprawl of spreadsheets that needs to be a database, or when they have five different pieces of software that refuse to talk to each other. We build admin panels, CRM integrations, and database migrations that people usually try to avoid.

Our approach is very straightforward. We provide fixed quotes, show our work in weekly demos, and hand over the code and documentation as soon as we are finished. We use reliable and well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we value stability. We are a team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest industry trends. When something breaks, we are the ones who fix it.

The Role

As a Junior AI Automation Developer, you will spend your time building the connections between different software services. This is not about training complex house-made models from scratch. Instead, it is about the practical side of automation: moving data from one place to another, cleaning that data so it is formatted correctly, and sending it to an API. Your day-to-day work will involve writing scripts to automate simple tasks, such as summarizing long documents or categorizing incoming customer requests for our partner in London.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You will work on the plumbing of these systems. This means writing code that captures data from a source, checks it for errors, and makes sure it ends up in the right database or spreadsheet. You will also help create documentation and short walkthrough videos for the tools you build so that the client knows exactly how to use them. While the work might involve modern automation tools, the core of the job is solid, logical programming and careful data handling.

What You Bring

We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building things that actually work. Because this is an entry level role, we do not require you to have years of professional experience. We do expect you to have a basic understanding of programming logic and a curiosity about how different software tools can be connected.

  • A basic ability to write scripts in a language like JavaScript or Python.
  • An organized approach to problem solving and the ability to follow a checklist.
  • The ability to explain how a piece of code works in plain, simple English.
  • A high level of comfort working in a fully remote environment.
  • Consistency in your work and a focus on getting the small details right.
  • A willingness to learn how to interact with different APIs and databases.
  • Availability to work full time and a commitment to helping the team meet weekly goals.

Helpful Background

While we will help you get up to speed on our specific way of working, having some familiarity with the following tools and concepts will be useful. We do not expect you to be an expert in any of these, but having used them for personal projects or during your studies is a great start.

  • Experience using GitHub to save and manage your code.
  • An understanding of what an API is and how to get data from one.
  • Familiarity with React or basic HTML and CSS for simple internal dashboards.
  • Some experience with SQL or a basic understanding of how databases work.
  • A general interest in how automation tools can be used to handle repetitive office tasks.

Working at Pixel Systems

Working here is different from working at a large tech company. We are a small team without layers of middle management. When you build a feature, it goes into production quickly, and you see the positive effect it has on the client's business. We value quiet, focused work and clear communication through written updates. This is a fully remote position, meaning you have the flexibility to manage your own workspace without a commute or an office schedule.

This is a permanent, full-time role. The position is paid, and we offer a salary that is competitive for the entry level market. We provide a stable environment where you can learn how professional software is built and shipped. You will be supported by senior developers who are more interested in code that works than in using the newest or trendiest tools.

At Pixel Systems, we believe that software should be a utility that makes life easier, not a source of frustration. We take pride in building tools that are simple, maintainable, and helpful to the people who use them every day. We are looking for a junior developer who shares that same pragmatic outlook and wants to build a career on solid technical foundations.
