About Particle6
Particle6 is an award-winning creative production company blending boundary-pushing storytelling with cutting-edge AI. From original TV series and documentaries to brand campaigns and immersive content, we use the latest AI tools to enhance the creative process across broadcast and commercial work.
About the Role
This is a filmmaking job. The tools are new, the craft is old.
At Particle6 we make films — and we've picked up a camera that happens to run on AI. But the questions are exactly the ones you trained for: where does the light come from, what does the lens see, why does this frame land and that one fall flat. The technology is just the newest way to answer them. If you've ever cared about how an image is built, you already have the skill that matters here; we'll hand you a medium where a single person can light, frame, and shoot a scene that used to take a crew and a truck.
We know the instinct — that "AI" and "real filmmaking" don't belong in the same sentence. We think that's exactly backwards. The eye still decides everything. As our Junior AI Filmmaker, you'll compose cinematic stills that become the visual foundation of our films: setting the tone, framing, and lighting for every shot that follows, working alongside directors to turn intent into genuinely filmic frames. You bring the cinematographer's eye. We'll teach you the rest. This is a rare first role for a recent graduate who lives and breathes photography and cinematography — and wants to make more, faster, than any traditional entry point would ever allow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

What You’ll Be Doing
- Write and refine prompts that produce cinematic still frames for use across our AI film projects
- Translate creative briefs and mood references into images with intentional lighting, composition, and camera perspective
- Iterate quickly — testing, adjusting, and dialing in frames until they feel like they came off a real set
- Build and maintain a library of looks, references, and prompt approaches the team can reuse
- Collaborate closely with directors and the wider production team to keep every frame on-vision
What We’re Looking For
- A recent graduate with formal training in film or photography (a degree or equivalent qualification is required)
- A proven track record — a portfolio, photography reel, or body of personal work that demonstrates your eye (required; we don't hire without it)
- A real, demonstrable passion for photography and especially cinematography
- A working understanding of lighting — how key, fill, and practical light shape mood, and how to describe it
- A working understanding of camera language — angles, lens choice, focal length, depth of field, and framing
- A genuine love of film, with the instinct to notice why a shot works
- Sharp attention to detail and the patience to iterate toward exactly the right frame
- Strong written communication — you can describe a visual precisely and vividly
Desirable
- Hands-on experience with AI image tools (Midjourney, Seedream, Nano Banana, Flux, or similar)
- Familiarity with the vocabulary of cinematography (color temperature, contrast ratios, film stocks, aspect ratios)
