AI Engineer (Software) at Accenture
About the Role
We are building the next generation of AI-native engineering talent—engineers who use AI as a core part of how they work, not as an add-on. As an AI Engineer (Software), you will design, build, and ship production-grade software across the full stack, leveraging AI-assisted tooling as standard daily practice. Your work will focus on real client programs across industries, constructing production-grade systems that integrate with agentic AI systems—understanding how your full-stack contributions align with agent architecture, LLM APIs, and enterprise AI pipelines.
This is not a stepping-stone role. It represents a core engineering function in one of the most in-demand areas of the market, with a clear pathway to Forward Deployed Engineer opportunities for those who develop deep expertise in agentic systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Daily AI integration: Use AI coding assistants as a production-grade tool, demonstrating measurable impact on productivity and output quality.
- Production API integration: Call LLM APIs in live environments, manage token limits, ensure low-latency, and build initial abstraction layers.
- End-to-end AI workflows: Apply AI across the software lifecycle—including AI-generated tests, AI-assisted debugging, AI-accelerated code review, and prompt engineering for development.
- Quality assurance: Own the reliability of AI-generated content, exercise judgment on limitations, failure modes, and production-readiness.
- Track ROI: Define and measure KPIs for AI productivity and quality; present metrics to stakeholders.
- End-to-end ownership: Deliver features from design through to production in Agile sprints.
- Community impact: Contribute to shared knowledge bases, reusable components, and internal AI tooling norms.
- Agent-augmented architectures: Build integrations between full-stack applications and agent backends, ensuring seamless data flows, context handoffs, and robust API connections.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Production-grade software engineering experience in commercial environments (or equivalent via projects/internships).
- Proficiency in backend languages: Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with AI tools in daily engineering, with examples of:
- Applying AI to solve real problems (e.g., iteration, refinement, automation).
- Calling LLM APIs in production (token management, latency, cost tradeoffs).
- Basic understanding:
- Modern web development (JavaScript, HTML, CSS).
- Cloud fundamentals (AWS, Azure, GCP), containers (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Databases (SQL or NoSQL) and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Ability to validate, evaluate, and improve AI-generated outputs; awareness of biases and ethical use.
- Familiarity with agentic systems (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, RAG pipelines) and how they integrate with full-stack applications—conceptual or production experience preferred.
