Mohsin Cooper Architecture & Planning delivers exemplary design solutions that add value for both domestic and commercial clients. The practice adopts a rational, design-led approach, transforming sites and existing buildings, often within complex planning constraints.

Projects are assessed from multiple angles, including regular technical, and building control audits, and collaboration with specialist consultants where beneficial. Mohsin Cooper is committed to understanding client ambitions and translating them into practical, high-quality architectural outcomes.

Our projects range from developer led residential schemes, to warehouse / office / community projects, alongside work on listed buildings, domestic extensions and refurbishments.

Role Description

The Junior Architectural Technician will support the design and delivery of architectural projects, working closely with the Directors, senior technician and architects in the Hove team.

The role involves coordinating information for feasibility study, planning application and building control application submissions, as well as construction packages, sometimes working client or contractor side.

The Junior Architectural Technician will also liaise with external consultants to ensure technical information is clear, compliant, and fully coordinated with project objectives.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in our Hove office.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and planning processes alongside previous experience in a design or architectural practice is essential (a minimum of 2 to 3 years work experience in the UK is preferred).
  • Strong foundation in Architecture and Architectural Technology, with an ability to translate design concepts into practical technical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Construction Drawings, including accurate detailing for planning and building control compliance.
  • Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Sketch Up. Some experience of Adobe packages such as Indesign and Photoshop considered an advantage.
  • Relevant qualification in architectural technology, architecture, or a closely related field (degree or diploma level preferred).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within project deadlines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from senior team members and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience of working on UK based multi unit housing schemes is considered an advantage.
