Operations Services department provides processing support for the front line business units handling trade finance, loan and cash management products. The department also includes the Business Risk & Controls, Financial Crime Operations, and Facilities Management.

As a Junior Assistant Mortgage Administration - Mandarin Speaking, you will be responsible for overseeing the processing of retail mortgage loans and maintaining associated security documentation. You will also provide reliable operational support and services to Personal Banking department, Risk Management department, Banking department and sub-branches. This is a full time permanent position.

Key responsibilities

  • Process drawdown, collateral and repayment information in relevant core banking systems for retail mortgage operations
  • Monitor the daily retail mortgage payment report and apply interest adjustment as required
  • Reconcile overdue interest and execute necessary adjustments to retail mortgage accounts
  • Generate and distribute annual and interim mortgage statements promptly
  • Monitor repayment funds via relevant system and suspense accounts to ensure accurate settlement
  • Monitor and follow up on overdue mortgage payments, ground rent and management fees whilst accurately record loan performing status
  • Review legal and loan documents and approvals before fund drawdown
  • Issue timely repayment notices, redemption letters and insurance follow-up correspondence
  • Provide safe custody for, release and maintain title deeds and other securities documents in compliance with safekeeping policies
  • Analyse facility limits and resolve issues with branches prior to drawdown
  • Verify, register, scan and archive all security documents and customer correspondence; maintain both electronic and physical files in good order
  • Liaise with Legal and Compliance teams to resolve AML and regulatory inquiries
  • Identify, assess and mitigate operations risks in relation to daily transactions
  • Investigate, document and resolve customer complaints in relation to retail mortgage
  • Prepare SWIFT messages in the system for the retail mortgage drawdown
  • Coordinate with relevant external stakeholders as required

  • Degree educated in Business, Finance, Accounting, or relevant subjects
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CeMap) is a plus
  • Experience in Mortgage or experience related to property is a plus
  • Good knowledge of retail mortgage products, processing workflow and loan lifecycle management is preferred
  • Good knowledge of regulatory requirements, AML/CFT guidelines and operational risk frameworks
  • Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Team player
  • Attention to detail and capable of managing high-volume transactions accurately
  • Highly organised
