Level: Junior Associate (1–2 PQE)

About the Firm & Practice:

We are partnering with a Tier-1 Global law firm to recruit a high-caliber Junior Associate for their market-leading Debt Capital Markets practice. The practice is led by highly acclaimed partners and regularly advises sovereign issuers, international investment banks, private equity sponsors, and major multinational corporations on sophisticated, cross-border debt offerings and structured financing transactions across Asia-Pacific and global markets.

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will work directly alongside market-leading partners on complex, high-value, and multi-jurisdictional capital markets transactions, receiving exceptional training and direct deal exposure from day one.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in advising underwriters, arrangers, and corporate issuers on a broad range of DCM transactions, including standalone bond issuances, EMTN/GMTN programmes, liability management, and ESG-linked debt instruments.
  • Draft and review core transaction documentation, including offering circulars, subscription agreements, agency agreements, terms and conditions, and closing certificates.
  • Coordinate deal execution workflows, conditions precedent (CP) management, and settlement/closing processes with clearing systems and listing authorities.
  • Conduct targeted legal research and due diligence across relevant regulatory and securities law frameworks.
  • Collaborate closely with global cross-border teams, external local counsel, financial advisers, and institutional clients.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications: Common law qualified (e.g., England & Wales, Singapore, New York, Australia, or equivalent).
Experience: 1 to 2 years PQE with dedicated exposure to debt capital markets, structured finance, or broader corporate finance at a leading international firm or top-tier domestic practice.
Academic Background: Excellent academic credentials from a recognized law school.
Skills: Strong drafting and analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to manage tight deal timetables effectively.
Languages: Professional fluency in written and spoken English is essential to support legal drafting, client communication, and coordination with cross-border transaction teams. Additional regional language skills may be advantageous where required for client or transaction-related communication.
