Audit Services Assistant
£28,000 – £32,000 + Benefits
Permanent | Full-Time | Nottingham
The Opportunity
A growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice is looking for an Audit Services Assistant to join its team in Nottingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build their career in audit and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of clients. You’ll work closely with experienced audit professionals, supporting the delivery of high-quality audit engagements while developing your technical knowledge and client-facing skills.
The role would suit someone who is part-qualified or actively studying towards AAT or an equivalent qualification, with either existing experience in audit/accounting or a strong desire to develop their career within the profession.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the planning and execution of audit engagements.
- Performing substantive testing and analytical procedures on client accounts.
- Analysing financial information and identifying discrepancies or areas requiring further investigation.
- Preparing audit working papers, documentation and reports for review.
- Supporting the identification of risks and making recommendations for improvements.
- Acting as a point of contact for client queries throughout audit assignments.
- Building strong and professional relationships with clients.
- Assisting with explaining audit findings and recommendations where required.
- Ensuring audit work complies with relevant accounting, auditing and regulatory standards.
- Working closely with Audit Services Associates, Executives and Partners to deliver high-quality work.
- Contributing to team meetings, training and knowledge-sharing.

What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is ambitious, organised and keen to progress within audit.
Ideally, you will have:
- AAT or equivalent studies underway, or a relevant accounting qualification.
- Previous experience within audit or accounting is desirable.
- A good understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
- A collaborative approach, while also being comfortable working independently.
- A professional and positive attitude.
- High levels of integrity and confidentiality.
