Junior Automation Specialist
Most companies struggle with the gap between their software and their actual work. Our partner is a London-based financial organization dealing with this exact friction: manual data entry, disconnected spreadsheets, and approval chains that stall out. As a Junior Automation Specialist, you will help us bridge these gaps. This is a fully remote position where you will focus on cleaning up the small, annoying bottlenecks that create operational drag for their teams. You will spend your time looking at how data flows between systems and finding ways to make those handoffs happen without human intervention.

What You Will Do
- Review system logs to identify where data transfers are failing or where manual workarounds have replaced automation.
- Update and test routing rules within existing software to ensure tasks move to the right person at the right time.
- Assist in consolidating drifting backlogs of data that have accumulated due to broken processes.
- Draft and update SOPs to match the new automated reality of the workflow.
- Perform daily manual reconciliation tasks during the transition phase to ensure data integrity before full automation kicks in.
- Communicate daily updates in writing, highlighting what was fixed and what blockers remain in the process.
- Monitor the first month of live operations after a fix to catch and resolve any edge cases that appear in the logs.
- Help clean up stale data entries to ensure the automation logic has a clean foundation to work from.

What You Bring
- A genuine interest in how systems break and a desire to understand the logic behind operational workflows.

- The ability to write clear, plain English documentation that a non-technical user can follow without confusion.
- Strong attention to detail: you notice when a naming convention is inconsistent or when a step in a process is missing.
- A preference for finishing tasks and closing tickets rather than just discussing problems.
- The discipline to work effectively in a fully remote environment, managing your own schedule and providing clear written updates.
- A mindset that values simple, working solutions over complex or theoretical ones.
- Willingness to learn new software configurations and read through technical logs to find the source of an error.

How We Work
Tech Pipeline operates on the principle that if a fix is well-documented and simple, it will last. We rely heavily on written communication and clear ownership of tasks. Instead of long meetings, we use a decision log to track why changes were made and how the new routing rules function. We expect everyone to contribute to the internal runbooks so that our knowledge is shared and persistent. Once a client is stable and their team can manage the new process without us, we consider the project a success. This role is about doing the groundwork to make that stability possible.
