Application Deadline: 12 October 2026

Department: Commercial, Supply and Trading

Location: London

Description

Greenergy delivers safe, efficient and reliable fuel solutions to customers across road, aviation and marine sectors. As an international transportation fuel supplier, we combine traditional and renewable energy solutions to support our customers through the energy transition.

Commitment to innovation and a drive to do things differently have seen Greenergy grow from a bedroom start-up to supply transport fuels in the UK, Ireland and Canada, as well as being a leading European manufacturer of waste-based renewables.

We’re looking for a commercially curious and analytical professional to join our Biofuels Trading team as a Junior Bio Trader.

This is an opportunity to develop your career in a specialist area of the energy market, supporting market analysis, supply and demand assessments, commercial exposure monitoring and the execution of biofuel and sustainability-related transactions.

You should already have relevant professional experience in biofuels, sustainability, energy, commodities, trading, risk, market analysis or another closely related commercial environment. Experience of sustainability markets, compliance obligations or renewable fuels would be particularly valuable. The role is suited to someone who has moved beyond an academic or graduate-level environment and is ready to apply their existing knowledge in a trading setting.

Strong numerical and Excel skills are essential, together with the confidence to work with data, manage competing priorities and build effective relationships across the business.

Based in London, the role may provide opportunities to work internationally with Greenergy or Trafigura as your knowledge and experience develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis of biofuel and sustainability markets, including pricing, supply and demand, market drivers and relevant compliance instruments
  • Assist with assessing the commercial and operational considerations of physical blending compared with the use of sustainability certificates or compliance tickets
  • Support the monitoring of sustainability obligations and related market exposures, escalating issues and opportunities to the wider trading team
  • Assist with the execution and administration of physical, paper and certificate-based transactions, working with brokers, counterparties and internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate records of trades, positions, exposures and profit and loss information, with appropriate guidance from experienced colleagues
  • Work with Risk, Operations and Sustainability Compliance to support effective controls, accurate reporting and compliance with relevant requirements
  • Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of biofuel markets, sustainability regulations and compliance schemes in the UK and Europe
  • Contribute to market reports, commercial analysis and other information used to support trading and business decisions
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams and, over time, external brokers and counterparties.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
