Junior Bookkeeper – Full Time | Permanent | Shaftesbury
A modern, growing accountancy practice is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Bookkeeper to join its friendly team. This role is perfect for someone building a long-term career in practice, with opportunities to develop across bookkeeping, VAT, payroll and general accounts work.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase/sales invoices
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
- Preparing VAT returns
- Bank, credit card and online platform reconciliations (PayPal, Shopify, Amazon etc.)
- Supporting clients with bookkeeping queries and system setup
- Liaising with HMRC
- Assisting with payroll processing
- Supporting sole trader accounts and tax returns

About You
- AAT Level 3 or 4 student (or equivalent)
- Bookkeeping experience (practice or industry)
- Strong IT and cloud-software skills
- Excellent communication and attention to detail
- Positive, organised, eager to learn
- Ambition to progress within accountancy practice

Desirable
- Xero, QuickBooks or Sage experience
- VAT and basic payroll knowledge
- Previous practice experience
