Junior IT Business Analyst

12-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Up to £45k

Hybrid working - 1 day per week in the office London or Newcastle

A leading organisation is looking for a Junior IT Business Analyst to join its team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

This opportunity is ideal for someone at the early stages of their Business Analysis career who is looking to develop their skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You will support the IT Business Analysis team in understanding business problems, documenting requirements, mapping processes and contributing to digital transformation initiatives.

Working alongside experienced Business Analysts, solution architects and project teams, you will gain hands-on experience, structured development and opportunities to build your career within an established BA community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a foundational understanding of business systems and processes.
  • Participate in workshops, meetings and requirements-gathering sessions.
  • Gather, analyse, validate and document business requirements.
  • Support business process mapping, gap analysis and requirements definition.
  • Create and maintain documentation, including requirements lists, process flows and workshop outputs.
  • Assist with reviewing supplier and project documentation.
  • Work alongside Senior Business Analysts, IT teams and stakeholders to understand challenges and explore solutions.
  • Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Provide administrative and analytical support to IT projects.
  • Develop Business Analysis skills through mentoring, project exposure and collaboration with experienced colleagues.
  • Exposure to SAP would be beneficial, although it is not essential, with training and experience available.

What we are looking for:

  • An analytical mindset and the ability to break down problems.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A basic understanding of process mapping, or a willingness to learn.
  • A basic understanding of requirements gathering, or a willingness to develop this skill.
  • A proactive and positive approach to learning.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • An interest in IT, business processes and digital transformation.
  • Previous exposure to SAP is advantageous but not required.
