ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Junior Business Analyst and Project Analyst to support the delivery of multiple business, reporting and automation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a career in business analysis, project coordination, data analytics and process improvement.
The successful candidate will work with business stakeholders and the MI team to maintain project governance, document requirements, support executive reporting, produce management pack slides and contribute to technology-enabled process improvements.

Expected Contribution
- Business Analysis
- Requirements gathering, process mapping, user stories, functional specifications and UAT support.
- Project Administration
- Action logs, RAID logs, meeting packs, minutes, governance tracking and deadline follow-up.
- Management Packs
- Monthly and quarterly PowerPoint packs, executive summaries, KPI narratives and visual presentation of performance.
- Data and Reporting
- Excel analysis, data validation, reconciliation, Power BI support and data quality investigation.
- Process Improvement
- Identification of manual pain points, documentation of controls and support for automation opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Analysis
- Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders.
- Assist with workshops, discovery sessions and requirement gathering activities.
- Produce process maps, workflow diagrams and functional specifications.
- Document current-state and future-state processes.
- Support User Acceptance Testing, including test scripts, defect tracking and issue follow-up.
- Maintain requirements documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Help translate business requirements into practical reporting, process or automation solutions.
Project Administration and Governance
- Provide administrative support across multiple projects and business change initiatives.
- Maintain project plans, action logs, RAID logs, decision registers and status trackers.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, deadlines and dependencies.
- Coordinate project meetings, workshops and stakeholder forums.
- Prepare agendas, meeting packs and supporting presentation material.
- Produce accurate meeting minutes and clearly summarise actions, owners and due dates.
- Follow up with stakeholders to ensure actions are progressed and governance records remain current.
- Support project reporting, resource planning and work allocation activities.

Management Information and Executive Reporting
- Support the production of monthly and quarterly management information packs.
- Produce high-quality PowerPoint slides for leadership, executive and committee meetings.
- Collate reporting inputs from multiple stakeholders, systems and data sources.
- Create charts, visualisations, KPI summaries and concise narrative updates.
- Ensure reporting packs are accurate, consistent, professional and delivered to agreed deadlines.
- Support the continuous improvement of management pack formats, templates and production processes.
- Assist with the preparation of steering committee updates, project summaries and business review materials.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse business data to identify trends, risks, issues and opportunities.
- Support the production and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions.
- Produce ad-hoc analysis and regular management reports.
- Investigate data issues and reporting discrepancies.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation and quality assurance activity.
- Support data cleansing, migration and documentation exercises where required.
- Help maintain reporting documentation, business definitions and data quality controls.
Process Improvement and Automation
- Review existing manual processes and identify opportunities for simplification, control or automation.
- Document recommended improvements, risks, dependencies and benefits.
- Support business automation initiatives using modern Microsoft technologies.
- Assist with the implementation and adoption of new systems, reports and processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities across the MI function.
- Help monitor benefits realisation following completed process improvements.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build positive working relationships with stakeholders across the business.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support project communications, progress updates and stakeholder follow-up.
- Assist with managing expectations throughout project delivery.
- Work collaboratively with business teams to understand operational requirements and reporting needs.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, lookups and pivot tables.
- Excellent PowerPoint and presentation creation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisation, planning and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Experience producing professional documentation, reports or presentations.
- Confidence working with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
Desirable
- Experience in a Business Analyst, Project Coordinator, Project Analyst, PMO or MI support role.
- Knowledge of Power BI or other reporting and dashboarding tools.
- Exposure to SQL or structured data analysis.
- Understanding of process mapping techniques and business process documentation.
- Experience using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps or Power Automate.
- Exposure to project delivery methodologies and governance practices.
- Experience in financial services, insurance or London Market environments.
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality or reporting control principles.
