Junior Business Analyst - People / HR Transformation

Remote, within commuting distance of Leeds | Full Time | 24-Month Fixed Term Contract

See the gap. Ask why. Shape what comes next.

Better employee experiences don’t happen by accident.

They’re built through smarter systems, clearer processes and people who are curious enough to challenge how things have always been done.

That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Junior Business Analyst to join our People Services team at a defining point in our transformation journey.

You’ll get beneath the surface of how our People processes work today, identify what could work better and help turn ideas into practical, lasting change.

This isn’t a role where you’ll watch transformation happen.

You’ll be part of making it happen.

The impact you’ll make

From recruitment and employee journeys to HR systems and service delivery, you’ll help us create simpler, more connected experiences for colleagues across Change Grow Live.

Working alongside experienced analysts, project colleagues and People Services teams, you’ll bring structure to complex information and help move projects from conversation to delivery.

You’ll

  • Map current AS IS processes and help design stronger TO BE ways of working.
  • Gather insight from stakeholders and translate it into clear requirements and user stories.
  • Analyse systems, data and processes to uncover risk, duplication and opportunity.
  • Support workshops, testing, governance and project delivery.
  • Create clear process maps, presentations and business documentation.
  • Help improve the recruitment and HR systems used across our national organisation.

Your work will help People Services operate more effectively and give colleagues more time to focus on supporting our services and the people who use them.

What this could look like

One project might involve mapping a recruitment process and identifying where delays or duplication occur.

Another could see you working with People Services colleagues to understand how a HR system is being used, gathering requirements and helping test a proposed improvement.

You may support stakeholder workshops, turn conversations into clear user stories, analyse data to identify trends or create process maps that help teams understand a new way of working.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You won’t be expected to do this alone. You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues who will support you to build your judgement, technical knowledge and confidence as a Business Analyst.

Where you’ll work

  • Contract: Fixed term for 24 months.
  • Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Base: This is a hybrid position, so you'll need to live within a reasonable commuting distance of Leeds and be able to attend the office when required. There may also be occasional travel to Change Grow Live locations across the UK to support project and business needs.

Please note Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, the salary and any associated payments will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who knows how to ask the right questions.

You’ll be naturally curious, analytical and motivated by finding better ways to do things. You’ll enjoy making sense of detail, spotting connections and bringing clarity to complex challenges.

You’ll bring

  • Strong analytical thinking and a practical approach to problem-solving.
  • The confidence to question, listen and constructively challenge assumptions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using Excel, PowerPoint and process-mapping tools such as Visio.
  • The ability to build relationships and work through change with different stakeholders.

Experience of business analysis, process mapping, HR systems, transformation projects or stakeholder engagement would be valuable but it isn’t essential.

Potential matters here.

So does your willingness to learn.

Build your career while helping change ours

This role has been created to accelerate your development.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across People transformation, system optimisation and continuous improvement projects, working with colleagues across a complex national organisation.

You’ll develop the tools, confidence and experience to take your next step in Business Analysis while helping shape improvements that will last beyond the project.
