I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll gain exposure to multiple markets including technology, AI, engineering, robotics, financial services and professional services.
What You'll Learn
We don't expect you to arrive as an accomplished salesperson.
We'll help you develop the skills required to become one.
You'll learn how to:
- Identify and qualify potential clients
- Research companies and markets
- Approach senior decision-makers
- Conduct effective business development calls
- Write strong outreach messages and emails
- Build credibility with prospective clients
- Understand hiring challenges
- Handle objections and rejection
- Build and manage a sales pipeline
- Turn initial conversations into long-term client relationships
Who We're Looking For
Your background is less important than your potential.
You might be:
- A graduate looking to start a career in sales or recruitment
- Someone early in their career looking for greater earning potential
- Someone with experience in sales, customer service, hospitality or recruitment
- A recruiter who enjoys the business development side of the role
- Someone entrepreneurial who wants to build something of their own

Compensation
We believe in being transparent.
This is a commission-based opportunity without a guaranteed base salary.
Your earnings are directly linked to the business you generate and the revenue created from those client relationships.
This structure will not suit everyone.
However, for someone who wants to develop serious business development skills, work with international companies and participate directly in the value they create, the opportunity offers significant upside potential.
The commission structure and payment mechanics will be explained clearly before any commitment is made.
Career Growth
This role is designed as an entry point, not a destination.
As you develop, there are multiple progression paths, including:
- Senior Business Development
- Account Management
- Recruitment Consulting
- Market Leadership
You may also choose to specialise in a particular industry, geography or client market.
We're looking for people who want to build something and create lasting impact.

You've identified a company you'd love to win as a TalentCloud client. How would you get their attention?
We don't expect the perfect answer.
We want to see how you think.
