Junior Business Manager

Location: London – 3 days on site

Salary: Competitive

Duration: 18 months

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join the UK Wholesale Banking Management team and gain broad exposure to business management, commercial strategy, client coverage, performance reporting, executive support, and strategic initiatives.

The Junior Business Manager will work directly with the Senior Business Manager and provide flexible support across UK Wholesale Banking management priorities. The role is expected to provide significant support to the Sectors business while also contributing to UK Country Head Office activities and wider UK Management initiatives.

The successful candidate will help improve management information, support business performance reviews, deliver analysis and presentation materials, and enhance the use of data, Power BI, and Microsoft Copilot across the business.

The role is designed for an ambitious early-career professional looking to develop a broad understanding of Wholesale Banking and build strong analytical, commercial, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Business Management & Leadership Support

  • Support the Senior Business Manager and UK Wholesale Banking leadership stakeholders across a range of strategic and operational activities.
  • Assist with the preparation of leadership meetings, business reviews, management updates, and executive materials.
  • Coordinate actions arising from business reviews, leadership discussions, and governance forums.
  • Support planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement across UK Wholesale Banking.
  • Assist with organising workshops, strategy sessions, offsites, and relevant team events.

Commercial Performance & Management Information

  • Produce regular business performance reporting and management information for senior stakeholders.
  • Support monitoring of commercial activity, client engagement, business pipelines, and strategic objectives.
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for management attention.
  • Prepare concise presentations, briefing notes, and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Help improve reporting consistency, efficiency, and data quality across management processes.

Data, Power BI & Microsoft Copilot

  • Develop and maintain management dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI.
  • Support automation and standardisation of management information and reporting processes.
  • Use Microsoft Copilot and approved Microsoft productivity tools to support analysis, document preparation, meeting outputs, presentations, and process efficiency.
  • Work with stakeholders across Coverage, Products, Finance, Risk, and Operations to improve the quality and usability of business insight.
  • Identify practical opportunities to improve productivity through better use of data, automation, and AI-enabled tooling.

Client Coverage, Sector & Strategic Support

  • Support analysis of client coverage, client engagement, and sector activity across the UK Wholesale Banking business.
  • Assist with tracking business development initiatives, commercial opportunities, and follow-up actions.
  • Produce client, sector, and market analysis to support strategic discussions.
  • Support initiatives that improve commercial effectiveness, client engagement, and frontline productivity.
  • Contribute to strategic projects sponsored by members of the UK Wholesale Banking leadership team.

Governance, Controls & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Assist with preparation and coordination of governance materials where relevant to UK Management priorities.
  • Support action tracking, document preparation, and follow-up activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively across the matrix organisation to gather input, align messages, and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Maintain a professional, organised, and proactive approach to confidential business information.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • University level education or equivalent experience.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and present insight clearly.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Desirable

  • Experience in banking, financial services, consulting, analytics, or a corporate environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Experience with Salesforce, CRM platforms, or business reporting systems.
  • Exposure to business performance reporting or strategic project support.
  • Interest in client coverage, commercial banking, or front-office career pathways.
  • Experience using Power BI to create reports, dashboards, or management information.
