Junior Business Systems Support Analyst

Warrington

Flannery Plant Hire is one of the UK's leading providers of operated and self-drive plant equipment, supporting major infrastructure and construction projects nationwide. Through investment in people, technology and innovation, we continue to build the workforce of the future.

About the Role

We're looking for a Business Systems Support Analyst to join our IT team at our Warrington depot and provide reliable support for the business systems that our depots and Head Office teams rely on every day — from our hire/rental and fleet management platforms to HR, and reporting tools. You'll already be comfortable handling day-to-day support independently, and act as a key point of contact for the Warrington depot and surrounding sites when something isn't working, helping colleagues get unblocked quickly while building deeper expertise across our core business systems. This role suits someone with a solid grounding in IT/business systems support who's ready to take on more ownership, working closely with senior analysts and the wider IT team without needing close supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support for business systems used across depots and Head Office, logging and triaging tickets via the helpdesk
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine system issues, escalating more complex problems to senior analysts or IT specialists
  • Support user account setup, access requests, and basic system configuration changes
  • Help maintain accurate records in the ticketing system, tracking issues through to resolution
  • Assist with testing of system updates, patches, and new features before rollout
  • Create and maintain simple how-to guides and FAQs to help colleagues self-serve common requests
  • Support onboarding of new starters by setting up system access and providing basic system training
  • Liaise with depot teams to understand day-to-day system issues and feed recurring problems back to the wider IT team
  • Assist senior colleagues with small system improvement projects and data clean-up tasks
  • Build working knowledge of our core systems (hire/rental, fleet management, finance, HR) over time

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • 1-2 years' experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or business systems support role
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues independently, escalating only genuinely complex problems
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine willingness to help people, including those who aren't technical
  • Comfortable learning new software systems quickly
  • Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to troubleshooting
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office/365 (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and confidence working with minimal supervision

Preferred:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in IT, computer science, business, or a related field (not essential — we value hands-on experience just as highly)
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Freshdesk)
  • Interest in construction, plant/equipment hire, or another operational, multi-site business
  • A relevant certification (e.g., ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+) is a plus but not required

What Success Looks Like

  • Colleagues get quick, friendly, and effective help when something goes wrong
  • Tickets are logged clearly and resolved or escalated promptly
  • You're building real system knowledge month over month, taking on more independently
  • The wider IT team trusts you to represent Flannery well when speaking with depot staff
