Pathway Expert Chambers is an invitation-only community of independent medico-legal experts providing impartial evidence in serious personal injury and clinical negligence cases for both claimants and defendants. Operating on a chambers model, Pathway brings together a wide range of medical specialisms required for complex multi-track litigation. Each specialism is led by a highly regarded medico-legal expert who mentors both established expert witnesses and clinicians transitioning into medico-legal work. Pathway was created to address the growing demand from lawyers and insurers for trusted experts with genuine capacity, offering court-ready evidence supported by structured training and collective expertise. The organization is committed to inclusion and excellence, building a diverse and credible expert community that reflects modern clinical practice.
Role Description
The Junior Clerk role is a full-time, remote working position. The Junior Clerk will support the chambers’ day-to-day operations, including managing diaries, scheduling expert appointments, and coordinating instructions from legal and insurance clients and liaising with our experts. Duties include:

- Handling email and telephone enquiries
- Maintaining accurate case records
- Preparing documentation for medico-legal reports and court deadlines, whilst ensuring GDPR compliance
- Assisting with billing and invoicing processes
- Updating internal systems
- Supporting senior clerks with allocations of work across experts and specialisms

The Junior Clerk will contribute to a professional, inclusive, and service-focused environment, ensuring efficient administration and high-quality client service.
Qualifications
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including accurate record-keeping, scheduling, and time management.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to handle professional correspondence and liaise confidently with experts, lawyers, and insurers.
- Proficiency with common office software and case management or database systems, with a willingness to learn new tools and processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures, particularly when preparing documentation and handling confidential information.
- Customer service orientation, demonstrating reliability, discretion, and a respectful approach to colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines under supervision.
- Interest in the legal or medical sectors; prior chambers, legal, or professional services experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Education to secondary level or higher.
- Further training or qualifications in administration, law, or related fields are beneficial.
