The post would suit trainee-grade candidates who are currently between rotations.

The post is intended as a junior resident post at F2 to CT3 level for those with a background in any acute specialty including A&E, anaesthesia, medicine and surgery.

Northwick Park/St Mark’s is a very large district general hospital which also hosts national referral centres for colorectal surgery and intestinal failure. There are district and supra-district services in ENT, maxilla-facial and vascular surgery and infectious diseases, and all other major district level specialties are represented. The ICU has 48 beds, split over two distinct units with approximately 400 admissions per year.

This is a Trust grade appointment in a unit which is accredited for basic, intermediate and higher training in Intensive Care Medicine, and has an active critical care programme aimed at providing experience and teaching equivalent to FICM Intensive Care training requirements. The post-holders will work alongside numbered trainees from the Anaesthetic, ACCS, and IMT rotations, and will receive identical training, clinical exposure, and formal assessment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
