Role Description

This is a part-time remote role for a Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer. The role involves supporting the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS and Microsoft Azure, under the guidance of senior engineers.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Working with infrastructure as code
  • Assisting with continuous integration pipelines
  • Contributing to cloud-native tooling
  • Performing routine system administration on Windows and Linux-based environments

The Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer will help troubleshoot environment issues, implement security and compliance best practices, and collaborate with consultants to deliver reliable solutions to clients. The role also includes:

  • Learning modern DevOps practices within a supportive consulting environment

Qualifications

  • Foundational experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Basic Software Development skills in a modern scripting or programming language (such as Python, Bash, or JavaScript)
  • Understanding of Continuous Integration concepts and exposure to CI tools or pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins)
  • Hands-on System Administration experience, with emphasis on managing and troubleshooting Linux servers
  • Interest in or exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or other major providers), especially in a DevOps or engineering context
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage time effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams and clients
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn and adopt security-focused and compliant engineering practices
  • Relevant education or training in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience; industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Linux or DevOps certifications) are an advantage
