Role Overview
We are looking for a technically curious and hands-on Junior Cloud Technology Engineer to support PPC’s transition from on-premise infrastructure to cloud-based workflows.
Working within our Technical Operations Team and alongside external technology partners, you will support migration projects across post-production, storage, remote workflows, core IT, identity management and networking. You will help coordinate projects, test workflows, document decisions and support successful rollouts.
This project-focused role would suit a recent computer science graduate or someone with experience in media or post-production technology. You do not need to be an expert, we are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, eager to learn and willing to get hands-on. Your attitude will be your strongest attribute. This is not a traditional IT service desk role. It is a project-focused position supporting the development and implementation of PPC’s future technology infrastructure and workflows. Main Responsibilities
- Support cloud migration and technology implementation projects across post-production, storage, remote workflows, core IT, identity management and networking.
- Assist with the coordination of proof-of-concept, testing and implementation projects, ensuring actions and decisions are clearly recorded.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to keep project activities progressing against agreed priorities and timelines.
- Test new systems, platforms and workflows, documenting results and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, including workflow diagrams, test plans, implementation notes and operating procedures.
- Support the rollout of new technologies and workflows across the business.
- Help gather technical and operational requirements from teams across PPC.
- Assist with the investigation and resolution of issues identified during testing and implementation.
- Track project actions, dependencies, risks and outstanding decisions.
- Support the evaluation of cloud platforms, storage solutions, file-transfer systems and remote-working technologies.
- Help ensure that security, identity management and access-control requirements are considered throughout project delivery.
- Develop an understanding of PPC’s creative, post-production and operational workflows.
- Build effective working relationships across technical, creative, production and operational teams.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks and proactively seek the information needed to complete them.
- Keep up to date with developments in cloud technology, media workflows and post-production infrastructure.
- Contribute ideas and identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and ways of working.

Skills and Experience
- A degree, qualification or equivalent practical experience in computer science, information technology, media technology or a related discipline.
- Some experience working or studying within a technology-focused environment.
- A basic understanding of cloud technology, ideally involving AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
- Familiarity with one or more operating systems, including Windows, macOS or Linux.
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge, ideally using Python.
- An understanding of networking fundamentals across on-premise, hybrid and cloud environments.
- Some knowledge of identity and access management, ideally including Microsoft Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID.
- Familiarity with storage, file-transfer and remote-access technologies.
- An interest in media technology, post-production systems and creative workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Good documentation skills and a structured approach to recording actions, decisions and test results.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership rather than wait to be directed through every step.
- An ability to connect people, systems and processes while maintaining sight of the wider objective.
- A pragmatic, collaborative and delivery-focused approach.
- A willingness to learn, experiment and work hands-on with unfamiliar technologies.
- An interest in film, television, entertainment marketing or the wider creative industries would be advantageous.
