George Baker are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused and detail-oriented Junior Commercial Administrator to join our Commercial Team in Felixstowe, supporting the sales and marketing side of our logistics business.

This role is ideal for someone at the start of their career, or with some early office or customer service experience, who is keen to develop within a busy commercial logistics environment. You will provide reliable administrative support to the sales team, help maintain accurate customer information, assist with quotations and enquiries, and support marketing activity. Full workplace training will be provided, with ongoing guidance from colleagues across the Commercial team.

Key Duties

  • Accurately update and maintain customer records within our CRM system
  • Upload and process spreadsheets, compile quotations, and assist with tender submissions
  • Respond promptly to incoming enquiries via phone and email in a professional manner
  • Handle incoming calls and direct queries appropriately
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Commercial sales team, including preparing information, updating records and following up actions
  • Support sales performance, marketing activity and customer satisfaction through accurate, timely administration
  • Assist with creating social media posts, flyers and other marketing materials for customer communications, campaigns and events
  • Order and coordinate marketing materials, printed collateral and promotional items as required
  • Work closely with the wider Commercial, marketing and operational teams to support smooth and efficient day-to-day activity
  • Develop a practical understanding of logistics, customs, transport, warehousing and customer service through day-to-day exposure to the business

Skills/Experience

  • GCSEs or equivalent qualifications preferred, including English and Maths
  • Some customer service, office administration, retail or hospitality experience would be beneficial
  • Confident communicator with a clear, professional phone manner and strong written skills
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Outlook and Word
  • Accurate typing and data entry skills, with strong attention to detail
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage a varied workload in a busy office environment
  • Enthusiastic, customer-focused and willing to learn, take initiative and work well as part of a collaborative team
  • Interest in sales, marketing, logistics and how different departments work together to deliver excellent customer service
