About the team

Our Retail Click & Mortar team is on a mission to expand SumUp's presence from a trusted B2B brand into a full consumer financial services category across European retail. This is a net-new role sitting at the heart of that ambition โ€” helping build the research, data, and insight infrastructure that will power our go-to-market strategy for consumers. If you're energised by building something from scratch and want real ownership from day one, this is the opportunity to grow into a key player in one of SumUp's most exciting strategic bets.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain a structured market data tracker covering consumer retail distribution across key European markets, turning it into a foundational input for strategic planning
  • Coordinate end-to-end tracking across consumer MVP pilots โ€” flagging risks, tracking milestones, and synthesising learnings into clear updates for the team
  • Produce insight decks and briefing documents that sharpen commercial decisions and accelerate planning cycles
  • Support retailer meetings and pitch preparation, contributing to follow-up coordination and relationship management
  • Work with the finance team to model and analyse the net revenue contribution and payback of consumer pilots, translating numbers into clear recommendations

You'll be great for this role ifโ€ฆ

  • Strong analytical skills with comfort in Excel or Google Sheets, structuring data and turning it into clear, decision-ready outputs.
  • Experience in finance, marketing, commercial analysis, strategy support, or a related field โ€” even if early in your career.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams simultaneously and keep delivery on track without losing sight of the detail.
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce concise, well-structured briefing documents and summaries.
  • Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments where the playbook is still being written.

Iโ€™m in my final year doing Economics and I donโ€™t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer โ€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโ€™t need a masters. Letโ€™s look at the ones youโ€™d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
